Messe Taoyuan, a state-of-the-art conference centre and exhibition hall and the country’s largest-such venue, has opened in Taiwan.

Its conference hall, spread across four levels, caters for small gatherings and large-scale events, from between 100 up to 2,000 participants, while the exhibition area features space for up to 600 booths and 8,800 people.
Located in Taoyuan, the venue’s eco-friendly design adheres to green building principles. Built by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and operated by Interplan International Corp, Messe Taoyuan is strategically placed for easy access to Taipei and New Taipei City, with transport links including the Airport MRT and Taiwan High-Speed Rail.
This forms part of Messe Taoyuan’s commitment to embracing low-carbon forms of transportation. Alongside the rail links, there are ample bus stops and public bicycle rental stations around the venue, as well as electric vehicle charging stations, providing an eco-friendly and convenient way to reach the venue.
Guests are also encouraged to bring their own toiletries and caterers and restaurants can make use of eco-friendly packaging materials to reduce the use of disposable tableware. The venue is also prioritising locally-sourced ingredients and increasing the availability of plant-based dishes to reduce the carbon footprint associated with food transportation. It also supports waste reduction through strict recycling measures.
The venue’s opening at the end of October coincided with the hosting of the Junior Chamber International World Congress, a five-day event which welcomed over 4,000 attendees from 100 countries.
