Indonesia will soon boast its newest and largest convention and exhibition centre when the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE) opens later this year in Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 (PIK 2), a waterfront city in the outskirts of Jakarta.
With a total net leasable area of 130,000 sqm, NICE is expected to be fully operational by September 2025, according to Ryan Adrian, managing director of PT Industri Pameran Nusantara – a joint venture between Agung Sedayu Group and Salim Group, which is developing the project.
“We’re only opening for the last four months of 2025 – September through December – so we see this as our soft launch, allowing us to fine-tune operations,” Ryan told M&C Asia. Ahead its opening, NICE has already secured 11 event bookings to date, with four confirmed contracts and seven in negotiation.
A massive expansion for Jakarta’s MICE sector
NICE will be Jakarta’s fourth major exhibition venue, joining the Jakarta Convention Center, JI-Expo Kemayoran, and ICE BSD. Together, these three venues currently offer a combined leasable area of under 200,000 sqm, with NICE’s additional 130,000 sqm expected to significantly expand Indonesia’s hosting capacity.
“With NICE, Indonesia will have a significantly larger capacity to host large-scale events simultaneously, elevating the country as a destination for international events,” Ryan added.
The venue sits on a 40-hectare site, boasting a total gross built-up area of 300,000 sqm and an investment of approximately IDR 4 trillion (excluding land costs). Designed to host up to 200,000 people at a time, NICE will also provide 6,340 parking spaces, including dedicated VIP and disabled-accessible spots.

Strategic location
NICE is located less than 10 minutes from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, a major advantage for B2B events. The venue is also complemented by a range of supporting facilities, including hotels, transport networks, and entertainment options. “This makes it much easier for B2B events to access the venue,” Ryan explained.
In addition, NICE is located near Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), the newest tourist destination where it offers beautiful beach and culinary centre with large variety of food and drinks.
“With the presence of NICE, this combination becomes even more fitting. We are also attracting high-quality tourists, and MICE events are a key driver of that,” Ryan said.
The NICE difference
One of NICE’s standout features is its expansive central atrium, designed to improve connectivity between zones and enhance the overall event experience.
“Having managed venues before, I understand the challenge of navigating large spaces,” said Ryan. “At NICE, we’ve designed the layout to minimise walking distances while ensuring attendees can easily see activities happening across different areas. This will also contribute to a more dynamic and festive atmosphere.”
Wit sustainability being a key focus, NICE will be partially powered by solar energy to reduce its electricity consumption. Additionally, it will forego basement parking, which would otherwise require significantly more energy use for lighting even during daylight. Maintenance and control are also minimised, especially for electricity and water usage, said Ryan.
“We’re not just building a convention centre or facilities – we’re building Indonesia’s future as a premier destination in the global MICE industry,” he said.
